How CaCl₂ accelerates concrete

Added at the mix, CaCl₂ shortens setting time and boosts early strength, which keeps winter pours on schedule and lets forms be stripped sooner. Grades and supply

We supply accelerator-grade CaCl₂ as 77–94% flake and pellet and as 32–35% liquid for batching, in bagged and bulk formats with full documentation, delivered to plants and job sites nationwide on contract pricing.

Cold-weather concreting

The biggest reason crews reach for CaCl₂ is winter. As temperatures fall, ordinary concrete sets slowly and risks freezing before it gains strength; a CaCl₂ accelerator speeds early strength gain so forms can be stripped on schedule and pours stay on the calendar through the cold months. It is used alongside heated mix water and curing protection rather than as a substitute for them — the chloride speeds the chemistry, the heat and cover protect the placement.

Dosage and reinforced work

CaCl₂ is dosed by weight of cement, typically 1–2%, and is most straightforward in plain, non-reinforced concrete. In reinforced or prestressed work many specifications limit or prohibit it to manage chloride-induced corrosion of the steel, so the right answer depends on the spec and the structure.
